What's this?
What is this?Darryl and I were walking around the Anatomy Museum when we came across this specimen. For those of you who are still clueless as to which organ this is, it is a LIVER cut up to show the major blood vessels that pass through it. Its actually quite obvious given the outline and the type of blood vessels. Even if you don't know, GI16 stands for Gastro-intestinal Specimen No. 16.
So having noticed the similarity of this specimen to another organ, we decided to see if we could have fun watching people's reactions when we feed them what we think it looks like. Thus we went around bringing people to the specimen, telling them this is such a huge organ and asking them whether they think it looks normal and guess which animal it belongs to and see their reactions. It was originally meant to trick Nick but since we couldn't find him, we found others to ask, here are some of the more interesting reactions:
Sheralyn: Oooh... Its not the size that matters.
Cindi: Like what Dr. XXX says, its not the wand but the skill of the magician.
Lydia: It must be from an ELEPHANT!
Jing Ting: Wah, so big, is it normal?
Helena: Its human? Its quite big!
Desmond: Really ah.... Dun bluff me... Could be from a horse! I remember seeing a horse get an erection, it was damn huge and fast, I even have a video!
Wei Cheng: There was this porn actress who tried to have sex with a horse but couldn't take it and lacerated the soft tissue and she died!
When the whole joke was over and we thought everybody knew what it was....
Helena: You mean that is not human?!
Sigh, the expectations of women these days....

TriFac
Congrats on the wonderful performance guys, you were great and we all appreciate all the time and effort you all put in. You were the reason we attended the TriFac bash and you made the trip there all worthwhile.
No amount of force or external pressure from anyone would have made us attend the bash.
The night was pretty fun watching all the silly antics on and off the stage. Like me, most people don't seem to have gone clubbing before so it was unfortunate that alot of people left immediately after the bash. Anyway it was nice to see people in a more informal setting in their nicer clothes. (of course some came in their normal school clothes. Perhaps they weren't bothered to dress up for the event?)
One sad observation: Even in informal settings some people still don't try to mingle around with others. Come on, if it feels uncomfortable to break out of your clique in school, at least try during informal events.
Okie, enough ranting. Seems like nobody else likes to post here other than me. All lurking and reading.

The Profile of a Uninteresting Day
Today was a special day,
No rumours were set out to play.
Little did we do,
less did we say.
Histology was interesting
but nothing much was learnt.
Foundations are useful,
just don't get burnt.
Biochemistry was a bore
that we used to feel was a chore
but the tutorial was fine
and now its time,
to end this silly rhyme.

Greetings!
Hello one and all!
This is the Dental2010 class blog. So why did I start the blog?
Firstly notice that the URL is sgdentist.blogspot.com and hence it sorta embodies the hope that as a class we will all become happy dentists in 4 years time. Next the title is Dental School (for now until we think of something better) as it will help chronicle all the events we have collectively experienced as a class, the good times and the bad.
One of the best ways which people bond is through collective memory. I hope this blog will serve as a fun and friendly way to interact and share our thoughts, perspectives and ideas with each other and the people around us.
Contributors, please feel free to post anything, pictures, comments or even help explain stuff that the rest are clueless about online.
Thats all for now, I'm not good with writing first entries.
